Happy 25th, Kartik.

A small archive for a friend who has seen difficult days, earned a new beginning, and still somehow makes every serious photo look like an album cover.

For the friend who stayed.

Dear Kartik,

Happy birthday, Sukdya. I do not think I say this enough, so this entire website is me overcorrecting in the most dramatic possible way.

You helped me get through my most difficult days without making me feel weak for having them. You gave me company when things felt heavy, jokes when I needed to stop spiraling, and the kind of friendship that quietly says, “I am here. Keep going.”

And getting the full Kartikeya experience is genuinely so cool: the serious expressions, the strange wisdom, the spontaneous adventures, the home chaos, and the steady loyalty underneath all of it. I love it.

I hope this year gives you the same safety, laughter, and peace you have given me. You deserve a birthday that feels like being known, celebrated, and slightly roasted by people who love you.

Thank you.

With a lot of anger, obviously.

The hard chapter

You kept going.

Before the new job, before things started looking up again, there was a stretch that asked a lot from you. You carried it with more patience than you probably give yourself credit for.

The new job

A clean new start.

Twenty-five arrives with a proper next chapter: new work, new momentum, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you earned your way into it.

The friend

You show up quietly.

No speeches, no drama, just presence. You have a way of making difficult days less lonely and good days more memorable.

Friends posing together indoors

Twenty-five looks good on a person who kept moving.

Graduation crowds, hikes, beaches, car rides, inside jokes, quiet resets, dramatic chair poses, blurry nights, and the feeling that the next chapter is finally opening.

May 25 be calmer, sharper, better paid, and full of people who show up for you the way you show up for them.
